In the production of quality cast iron the inoculation process is of vital importance. When comparing un-inoculated andinoculated irons, differences in microstructures are easilyrevealed, which again will strongly affect the final mechanicalproperties of the casting. Through inoculation the graphitenucleation and eutectic under cooling of the iron can becontrolled and this will be of crucial importance giving the ironits required service properties.

The KW SLS inoculation feeder has been developed for anautomatic, precise and optimal dosing directly into the pouringjet. This guarantees the best possible effect. There is no fadingand the treatment is very uniform. Inoculating into the pouringjet increases the metallurgical quality of the casting and at thesame time allows to save inoculants.

Highest accuracy of inoculation

Each inoculation quantity is controlled by the load cells of the incorporated weighing system and the inoculation amount is optimized after each pour. This method allows highest inoculation accuracy.
